Android 12 And Everything that comes with it

Updated: Jun 27, 2021

The google IO happened a few days ago and what google pulled off there was nothing short of impressive. I’m talking about Android 12.

At a glance, the UI does seem to be influenced by IOS, but it’s got its own style or more accurately, you’ve got your own style.

Material You

Google’s new material You UI is really cool. It lets you control the design elements of all your apps including dynamic control over contrast, outline and even line width making you, as google says: “The Co-Designer”.

These selections can jump from devices with your google account, transforming all of your apps and websites in one go. This new design is flexible to every screen size through common textures, proportions and shapes.

It enables you to be you, no longer following the approach of one size fits all. On top of that, it does all of this without compromising on accessibility, making us look forward to this fall when it’ll be coming to the pixel following which will be wear OS, other phones, etc.

Android 12

Android 12, using Material You UI, can do some of the work for you. Those who love matching colors will love this. Android 12 can pick a matching color palette from your wallpaper and apply it across the entire OS.

Example colors as shown in I/O 2021

More elements like the quick settings menu have been changed, with it now having options for google pay and your devices while also adding more eye candy.

More personalization was introduced with google saying the way the screen lights up will change based on how it’s turned on and much more.

The Performance

This kind of design is expected to come with some pretty heavy performance penalty with older or cheaper phones becoming sluggish as they struggle to run the new code, but google managed to reduce CPU strain by almost 22% by reducing contention in areas like activity, window and package managers.

This means that not only will your phone be able to run all the stuff mentioned above without a hitch, it’ll be able to do it faster.

Conclusion

What I didn’t mention was wear OS and that’s because it added all the features Apple had over it.

So in actual conclusion, the star of this show was Android 12 (or the new quantum computing campus) and made it shine brightly, Google did.
